Public Health/Infection Control
Job Responsibilities:
- Data collection and analysis.
- Develop, implement and evaluate educational programs for staff/patients/public/other
contingents.
- Plan, organize and manage public health prevention programs.
- Applied research may be involved.

Additional education needed:
For a non-nursing background, it is helpful to have knowledge of medical
procedures, various types of equipment used in healthcare, and
the roles of healthcare workers.
Specific training in infection control and epidemiology (e.g. offered
by professional organizations, health departments, colleges and universities,
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
Masters degree in related field (public health, epidemiology) may be
required by some employers.
