Summit on the Shortage of Clinical Laboratory Personnel
SUMMIT II

IMMEDIATE CONSIDERATION

It was openly discussed that the momentum of SSCLP I and SSCLP II should be sustained through a more permanent entity. The idea that seemed to gain the most attention was that there be a relationship between all of the participating organizations via the "appointment’ (or however that would be done by each organization) of a delegate from the organization to a ‘coordinating council". The name Coordinating Council on the Clinical Laboratory Workforce was suggested. A more full discussion of this idea (and suggestions for other names) should take place within each organization. Suggestions for names, structure and financing should be sent to Jim Griffith of ASCLS.
