Skyline nighttimeThe 2019 Clinical Laboratory Educators Conference (CLEC) experience includes more than 50 empowering and informative educational sessions to improve and strengthen your MLS or MLT program. Yet it also offers time to mix and mingle with your fellow medical laboratory educators, relax, and see some of our host city. On Friday evening you’re invited to join your friends and colleagues for a happy hour immediately following the afternoon general session. Then you have the rest of the evening free to head out on the town and explore Baltimore.

The Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel is centrally located within walking distance (or a short car ride) to the Inner Harbor, Little Italy, Harbor East, and Fells Point and includes some fabulous dining options. To help you plan your night out, the CLEC Host Committee has put together a CLEC 2019: Guide to Baltimore featuring a variety of activities, including tours, The King and I at the Hippodrome Theater, and historical sites of interest. There are even a few discounts available for select attractions.

img haunted crawl thumbIf you’d rather have someone else plan your evening, the CLEC Host Committee has also arranged a Haunted Pub Crawl of Fells Point  for interested attendees. Learn local history and sample some Baltimore brews on a two-hour pub crawl (visting three bars) with ghosts: a nurse who still cares for her patients even after her own demise; the street-wandering specter of one of Fells Point's founders and namesake; some of the many "working girls" still plying their trade; or a bootmaker still stomping around one of America's oldest saloons.

This tour is limited to adults (21+) only. It starts at 7 p.m. and costs $22 for CLEC attendees. Space is limited so sign up now. The tour is operated by Baltimore Tours & Crawls.

It’s not too early to start making plans for Friday night. CLEC 2019 will be here in a few short weeks!
